Antique 1883 Italian edition of Spagna by Edmondo De Amicis, published in Florence by G. Barbèra.

This is a travel and literary work on Spain by one of Italy’s best-known 19th-century writers. The main buyer hook here is the binding: half leather with raised bands, gilt spine decoration, marbled boards, and marbled endpapers. This is a better decorative shelf copy than a plain reading copy.

Best fit for collectors of antique Italian books, Spain travel writing, Edmondo De Amicis, 19th-century European literature, and decorative leather bindings.

Major hook: 1883 Italian Spagna in a handsome half-leather binding with marbled boards and gilt spine.

Condition: Antique hardcover with leather spine and corners, raised bands, gilt spine decoration, marbled boards, and marbled endpapers. No dust jacket.
